Croatia is located in Southeastern Europe. It is bordered by Slovenia in the northwest, Hungary in the northeast, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The capital of the city is Zagreb, which has about 1 million population. Zagreb has culture, arts, music, architecture, gastronomy and all the other things that make a quality capital city.
Ban Jelačić Square
This square is a meeting place for a lot of people and. It was taken down during the communist regime and only put back in 1990s when Croatia became independent. It's a very popular meeting point in Zagreb. During the Second World War, when Hungarians attacked there, Ban Jelacic was protected his country well and then he became hero. That's why sword in the statue pointed to Hungary.
Zagreb Cathedral
The cathedral is the most famous building in Zagreb. It was built in 12-13th century. You can see this cathedral from everywhere in this city. It is under restoration since long time, because the cathedral was affected some earthquake and fire in the past.
Saint Mark's Church
This church is the symbol of the city. It was built in 13th century. It's very recognizable by Its colorful roof showing emblems of city of Zagreb and emblem of the kingdom Croatia and Slovenia.
The museum of Broken Relationships
This museum dedicated to memories of unsuccessful love and relationships. In the museum, there are items left by numerous ex lovers paired with short text which describe the fate of the relationships and the provided items.Other than the majority of fun and informative stories, there are a few sad and truly tragic ones. I strongly reccomended a visit there. Even If you don't like to visit museums, you'll find something there you might like.
