Going to visit El Calafate is like going to an alien world in a distant planet. The colours, the sounds, the shapes and the sheer scale of it makes you feel tiny and overwhelmed with awe. These photos do not make it justice as you can imagine, not by far, but we hope it works as a little teaser to make you compelled to go there and experience these marvels of the natural world.
On our way to Perito Moreno National Park
Wind, ice, sun and water near the glacier end create these amazing rainbows.
El Glaciar Seco (The Dry Glacier)
Building-sized ice-bergs floating around
The Spegazzini Glacier
Perito Moreno Glacier
Including trekking on the ice and whiskey on the rocks... while on the rocks. Ever wanted to have a drink with a 500 year old ice cube?
Spot the people trekking on the ice, and you'll get a sense of the scale, and this is less than half of the glacier front! (Clue: yes, it's that tiny line of dots)
