If you ever get the opportunity to travel to Bangladesh, I highly encourage doing so. Like all places in the world, their is good, bad, and ugly but when it comes to Bangladesh, I found way more good than ugly.
Traveling from the airport to the hotel was more than adventurous. To see real elephants in the middle of the streets used as a mode of transportation was remarkable.
Be careful of the tut-tuts. Really, don't drive in Bangladesh. Seriously, please listen to me with that advice.
Go as far away from the capital Dhaka as humanely possible if you want true remote village life. I assure you the people will welcome you with open arms.
When hungry, grab some of the local fruit. These bananas were by far the best tasting bananas I have ever eaten.
And remember, not everyone is as lucky as you or I. Some people were just placed here on this earth immediately living an uphill battle. Treat them humanely and with dignity and you will find they are no different than you or I--they just want to move our families to bigger and brighter places on this earth.
Last but not least, if you ever get caught up in some local uproar, do everything you can to immediately get out of the area. The national police, especially the Rapid Action Brigade, are no joke. They definitely have some human rights and rules of law issues--I know, as I was there training them to be better servants to the people and not the masters. And no matter what you think of cops or law enforcement, these trainees are doing wonders in bettering themselves and their law enforcement culture to better the communities in which they serve.
There it is folks. That is Bangladesh 101 for you. Hope you enjoyed this photo journal. If so, don't forget to upvote.
