SPOTTED #44: Buy a water for 1$ in an Airport (100% Power Up Post)

in #travel8 years ago

Finally a fair solution for traveling

On my travel I am used to get free drinks in the airline or airport lounges, but sometimes I have to fly on a lowcost carrier. While Lowcost carriers are great sometimes, the additional cost you have might sometimes be greater than the difference in ticket prices

A fair solution based on trust

Byebye Ripoff 5USD water bottles

I bet that many people will not only give 1 USD or 1 Euro but leave a bit more. I had 1.20 Euro coins so I just threw that in. And took a bottle of water. Seing airlines charging 5 USD for a water sometimes or being charged 7USD for a water in a Airport Kiosk is just wrong... So I salute this solution and hope many more will pop up in airports around the world

How much would you pay for a bottle here ???

We have something similar in Maui, Hawaii were fruit vendors have fruits stands on the side of the famous road to "Hana". Customer just leave money and take what they want. Vendors don't even ask for specific amount, it is all trust system or give what you can afford. It's a great way to show our "Aloha" sprit.

wow that's so cool. . I totally think thats a great concept

at mykonos its 50 cents for the small 1 euro for the large. 5 dollars per bottle? what even. I ll wait for the rain.

ah 50cents is nice ;) you good ? how are you ?

That's a cool idea & setup, well worth a dollar and some extra change.

yeah. I assume people will put in their coins to get rid of them

Exactly, to lighten up their pockets a bit before traveling.

it is great in terms of you often won't care about tthe value of coins. ( if you know you won't be back to that country

Yes, another good reason, plus coins are heavy and other countries generally won't exchange them either.

Necessities like water shouldn't be charged unfair prices. It's a good move by them.

Very nice ~.~ thank you for sharing

Anything more than a few dollars is a rip off!
