RE: Prague/Czech Republic - Friday photo challenge - share your personal pictures from your visit to the Czech Republic!

Despite the crowd of tourists who lingers to watch the many artists who work on the bridge, the crossing of the Charles Bridge remains an enchantment and can enjoy a magnificent urban panorama. The bridge spans the Vltava / Moldau and links the Old Town and Mala Strana, whose entrances are each marked by beautiful Gothic towers. It was rebuilt under the Emperor Charles IV in 1357 to replace an earlier bridge washed away by a flood. Now pedestrian only, the bridge is decorated with many groups of Baroque statues, including that of St. John Nepomuk on the spot where he was thrown into the river for not having agreed to reveal a secret to the king. Day and night, the walk on the bridge is mesmerizing and not to be missed.
