Two days ago we visited the city of Tübingen in Germany. We marveled at the details of so many old buildings and dwellings. While examining one particular dwelling from the year 1494 I was struck by a contrast, an anomaly as it were!
What Do You Find Strange About This Photo?
This house from 1492 has something strange about it! Do you know what it is?
What Is An Anomaly?
Thanks for following me on my blockchain travels and I look forward to sharing my adventures with you.
Until next time,

Tesla Model 3 in March is the most sold car ever in Switzerland (source): are you seeing so many in Germany too?
6 windows do not line up with the 6 windows above. They purposefully arranged the windows to be offset, and noticeably so. Possibly they did this because the top floors were added later. With no multi-level supporting beams from underneath, I think the builders wanted to offset to the weight of the support beams across the lower windows, rather than mash down further the supports underneath.
Another cool feature is that each floor extends a few inches closer to the road. This slight stair step forward gives each new floor a few extra inches of space, which works because that vertical space isn't needed from the roadway. Oddly, the building looks like it is leaning back away from the road, making this feature an extreme necessity to help fight gravity tilting the building away from the road.
Wow you examined it carefully!
I have to admit it took me a minute to find the anomaly. But it appears the windows are either placed on an angle on the first floor or have been leveled with uneven ground. Just one floor is like this. Weird.
Interesting observation!
It seemed to me that the foundation of the house on the second floor :)
It does seem so!
I hope not to say stupidity ... I think that the windows are too modern for such an old building.
This is a good point!
The centre window on the 3rd floor is tilted and open. Or the ground floor window doesn’t have the green sun shades

Some intersting observations!
The thing that looks a bit odd to me is the window opening inwards on a pivot. Also the shutters on hinges.
In the 1400's I wouldn't have thought that buildings such as that one had windows that opened.
Good points!
The 45 degree shift ;p
Good observation!

It's a great feeling: bravo!
Haha..the fake built in balconies or painted balconies make the house look like a jigsaw puzzle..lol :)
Good point!
Cheers :)
The third floor seems to be crushing the second floor on the right side. Slightly off-square over there. Cool house, neat to see one so old!
That's a good observation!
