La Paz is full of mountains with mazes of canyons and giant spires. The formations are mostly composed of clay and sandstone and created by the persistent erosion caused by the strong winds and rain.
The colors consist of varied pallets, ranging from clear beige tones to sections of dark purple and red. This is due to the great variance of mineral content between each of the mountains, something that creates colorful compositions and amazing optical illusions of the eroded hillsides.
If you ever visit La Paz, you will see these mountains all around. However, if you’re really adventurous, you can even take long hikes or climb these hills. Some x-game lovers even race down these mountains with mountain bikes in Down-Hill Competitions.
Viva La Paz!
