We took an adventure today with some of my son's classmates and went up onto the top of the Pali Lookout through the jungle under the 100 year old abandoned highway~ it felt like we were on top of the world!
The elevation gain didn't wear us out as it was a gradual ascent and hiking with little ones, we moved slowly, but we gained 900 feet going up into the peaks just off the bay.
The jungles along the way were thick and gave the boys a chance to practice their vine swinging techniques, haha, and the Moms a chance to get close to some exotic flowers growing along the path. We were in heaven down in the jungle.
As we rounded a bend and climbed up under the old bridge the wind gave us relief in an amazing blast! The valley between the upper peaks caught the air off the ocean and turned it back onto us, whew! We all sat and rested and enjoyed the view.
The ocean off in the distance was gorgeous sitting on the edge of the windy mountainside. The day's exploration off this old highway was incredible and well worth the effort getting up into this lookout!
What a great adventure to go on with the boys!! 😍
It really was:)
