Sea can play organs! Listen the music from Zadar!

in #travel7 years ago

The sea organ in Zadar is a unique architectural achievement, an interesting and original blend of architecture and music. Unlike ordinary organs powered by bubbles or air pumps, the sound of these organs is caused by the energy of the sea, ie the waves, the tide and the oscillation. They are located in the west part of Zadar harbor.

Author of Marine Organ is Ing. Nikola Bašić, and co-authors of B.Sc. Ing Ivica Stamać (sound); Dr. Prof. Vladimir Andročec (Hydraulics) and the Hepherer organist atelier (project and tuning of the play).

The sea organ was officially opened on April 15, 2005 on the Zadar harbor, marking the completion of works on the part of Istra and the coast of King Petar Krešimira IV. The project was financed from the state budget in the amount of HRK 43 million, and the completion of the rebuilding of the river was marked by the then mayor of Zadar, Ana Lovrin.
The project of the extension of the port, financed with 40 million kuna, was made by Tankerkomerc, which includes the construction of 150 meters of Istrian and 180 meters of the coast of King Petar Krešimira IV. With built-in stairs with marine organs. Parallel with the construction of the Istrian coast, 100 meters of Istrian and 100 meters of Liburnian coast have been repaired, thus achieving stability and security for ships. This was funded by the Ministry with an additional three million kuna.

Great that you posted this!
I like those Sea Organs in Zadar, very much! Whenever I'm there, I sit there for some while to enjoy and relax.
It's really something amazing, and somewhat unexplainable. You really have to be there and feel it and hear it by yourself.

Beautiful view your shot my friend @leonarda

Love the sea, excellent photos. Really enjoyed this passage to the second love in my life :)
