Dear fellow travellers, have you ever heard of the island of KOH RONG SANLOEM? No? Well, you better start remembering the name of this gem of an island, because it is absolute paradise!
Here are my 5 reasons why you should hop on that boat and step ashore this beautiful little island:
- Number 1: There are no roads
Yes, that's correct - no cars!!! The island is made of beach and jungle and it is kept that way, which means you get an amazing Robinson Crusoe feel, added with a nice Cocktail on the beach :)
- Number 2: Swings! Everywhere!
There are swings and hammocks to chill in all along the beach, which makes not only a great photo for your next Steemit post, but it's also amazing to just relax after a round of swimming of beach frisbee!!
- Number 3: The beach. Really.
I think I have hardly ever seen sand so white like you can find it on Koh Rong. Not only that the sand is amazing, the beach is also super clean and there is no rubbish pollution in the water, which is getting harder and harder to find these days.
- Number 4: The vibe!
This island has PARADISE written all over it, and everybody can feel exactly that! The whole energy on the island gets you so relaxed, it's perfect to unwind and just enjoy with your fellow islanders :)
- Number 5: The pizza. No joke :D
Seriously, when we heard that we HAD to try the pizza place there, at first I thought 'Why would I eat pizza in a place like this'? But once we got there and tried the pizza fresh from the stone-oven, we could not help but order another serving! It was just TOO good! So do yourself a favour and go to the northern end of the beach and try that stone-oven pizza place, it's really worth it!
And if those 5 reasons have not yet convinced you, maybe the fact that you can swim in the clearest, most turquoise water almost by yourself and that you can watch stunning sunrises AND sunsets only a few meters apart is helping you to make your decision, at least that's what it would really do for me!
Are you ready? So then, what are you waiting for? Pack your backpacks and hop on this little paradise, I hope you will love it as much as I did!

Wie schön das es dir gefällt! Ich habe die Fotos auch nur mit dem Handy gemacht, finde es zu lästig eine richtige Kamera mitzuschleppen. Gut das die Handy's mittlerweile mit so guten Kameras ausgestattet sind, vor allem das Iphone hat doch normalerweise ne super Cam, und deine Bilder sind ja auch suuuper! Hugs back to ya girl!!

WoW! I've never hear of KOH RONG SANLOEM. So this is in Cambodia? I visited Phnom Penh & Siem Reap only. This place is beautiful and it looks to private & isolated. A great place to relax & unwind. I will research about this place and hopefully get to visit in the future. Thanks for sharing.
Oh, what a pity you didn't get to travel further down south! However, Siem Reap is also breathtaking and simply stunning, I was so amazed! I hope you make it back to Cambodia for visiting the southern islands :) :)

Haha @eleanorisdale, they are too good! If you are looking for your own perfect travel hammock, I can recommend a brand called 'Ticket to the moon' - they make hammocks out of parashoot material, so it's super sturdy yet totally light and small to pack!
I was still searching for my "big trip"- destination, this might be it!
Finding gems like these, that aren't discovered yet by all the tourists, is so difficult.

Hey @bonaventurehoste , yes this place is definitely still a well kept secret, but it will grow quickly as a tourist destination within the next years... If you head towards Indonesia, make sure you visit the island of Lombok, which is just east of Bali. It's a lot bigger than these small islands in Cambodia, but it is another tropical, untouched paradise - like the Bali of 30 years ago! Don't miss out while it's so beautiful :)
