Here, the tempestuous monsoon season of late summer brings with it happy bliss in the form of dense cloud cover and cool showers. The hilly state of Meghalaya, in North-eastern India provides a metaphorical shelter for the occasional, serendipitous tourist who happens to stumble into this otherworldly territory and is given the opportunity to escape the blistering heat of the plains of Assam into the realm of floating little fluffs of mist, what one could never voluntarily leave.
Here are a few pictures from my last trip to Meghalaya, where with my friends, I discovered this beautiful little scenic waterfall, at a place called Jowai. The falls is locally called as Krangshuri Falls.
It wasn't at all as serene as it looks in the picture, when we went underneath the waterfall.
When we went there we all went a little mad each. But it was so totally worth it.
Yes, those crystals are real! ;-)
The day we spent at Krangsuri Falls will forever be embedded in my memory. It was spectacular, indeed.
