Nesvizh castle. (Belarus)

Nesvizh castle is one of the most fascinating and at the same time mysterious places on the territory of Belarus. Rumor has it that there lives a Ghost Black Pandi, poisoned sweetheart of the Polish king Sigismund, which is the people, alerting them to impending trouble. This mystical monastery with a long history had witnessed tragic love, survived the destruction, rebuilding and change of ownership.

Now the castle is a cultural asset of Nesvizh, a historical landmark, where tourists first go. There is a special atmosphere, in addition, the system combines the features of several architectural styles, and this beauty is magically attracts visitors from around the world.

Kratka istorija

In the beginning of XVI century the family of the Radziwills owned almost all the territory of Belarus. The center of Niasvizh got the son Radziwill, Nicholas Christopher, who was transferred to the wood estate. Nicholas the orphan, as it was called, traveled almost all of Europe and impressed by the Italian architecture of the time, he was ordered to rebuild the burned the estate in a new way, to make it impregnable stone fortress.

Construction began in early 1583, the year. Say he commissioned the famous architect Giovanni Bernardoni, however, there is no interfacing in the biography of Italian, which may indicate that he had nothing to work on attraction. After 7 years at the river Ears, rose the stone castle of impressive size (120 t 170 - t meters) and bordered by a moat. The fortress was considered impregnable by the construction of as many as half a century, until in 1706, the year Charles XII and his army took the castle by storm.

The castle was rebuilt in the XVII century by architect Colleague. Then it has a huge courtyard and a chapel. However, the fortress remained a little, and was considered a secular Palace. During the Patriotic war in 1812 year, Dominic Radziwill had to flee France. All values in the empty castle was confiscated by the Russian army. After almost 50 years, the castle returned to the rightful owners, who expanded the area and built several parks with a total area of almost 90 hectares.

The radziwiłł family owned these lands before 1939. Even during the Second world war the fortress walls was not injured. In the castle were stationed the headquarters of the German troops. After the war there was placed Nesvizh resort.

The estate has suffered in our time. At the end of 2002, the year the 25th December in the Central building of the room was a fire. It was then, for the first time in many years, saw the Ghost of Barbara Radziwill.

The legend of the castle

Soglasno legends, the king of Poland Sigismund and Barbara radziwiłł was incredibly in love with each other. They have decided to take a huge step and I wanted to get married. However, marriage at that time was under the agreements, and the king was meant another wife. The mother of Sigismund poisoned Barbara, in order to avoid undesirable consequences._

Sigismund was not allowed to touch the manifested spirit of his beloved, but he could not resist. Now her restless soul wanders in the walls of the estate, as people warning of approaching trouble._

The castle became open to discover ten years after the restoration, only in 2012-m to year. The Museum has thirty exposition rooms, each of which has something to see. The interior was reconstructed according to the records and now it looks almost exactly as it was in the nineteenth century. Antique furniture, portraits of the family Radziwill, fascinating decors and paintings. You can visit the Hetman, Fireplace, White and a Hunting room. For the excursion allowed to see a rare collection in the Armoury hall: swords, rifles, pistols, muskets, local production, and even a suit of armor. It also hosts tournaments and knightly quests, concerts and various ceremonies.

Now Nesvizh castle is an architectural complex with a special atmosphere and an incredibly interesting story. Tourists come here from all over the world, and local residents admire the ancient places of their region.
