Hey Steemians!
It’s been a little while since @richardcrill and I gave an official update of our @dodgemahal travels, so I figured I’d catch you guys up!
Where Are We?!
I’m writing to you all today from my mom’s (@sixdranch4life) ranch in North Texas where we’ve been posted up since we left our home in Austin. We’ve only traveled a few hours north of Austin in our Dodge Mahal and plan on officially leaving Texas in May.
We had originally planned on taking the Dodge Mahal with us to Vegas for the Steem Creator’s Conference, but the more we thought about it, the more we realized it didn’t make sense considering we had to be back here for a wedding in May. Instead, we flew to Vegas and back, and now we’ll be driving in my car (way better gas mileage than the RV) to the wedding in Arkansas. We’ll update our route for you guys soon! Since we already went through Las Vegas for the conference, we may change things up a bit, but we’re still heading to the Pacific Northwest.

Six D Ranch
I’m actually glad it’s all working out this way, because I’ve been able to soak up all of this time to spend with our family and friends while we’re here. It’s actually one of the main reasons we even embarked on this journey - to spend as much time as we want with our loved ones.
(My cute momma! Fun fact - Six D stands for "six daughters". Yup, we're the brady bunch)
I loooove coming to my mom’s house for many reasons - she always has a fresh pot of coffee brewing, she always has snacks, and did I mention she runs her own rescue? My mom rescues animals (mostly equine) and helps adopt them out to new homes. She has her 501(c)3 non-profit status & uses donations she receives to help buy feed, hay, and any medical supplies needed for the animals, considering most of them are rescued from deplorable situations.
Farm Life
With spring in full fling, we’ve welcomed some new babies to the farm! My favorite new addition to the farm, and honestly who I’ve been spending most of my time with, is a little one month old potbelly pig, Sophie. I’m completely obsessed.
Sophie ❤️
My mom is just fostering her right now until she goes to her new home, so I’ve been working on getting her more socialized until she leaves. It’s also just an excuse to hang out with a cute baby pig (not that you need one). In a short week she’s gone from not letting you touch her at all, to wanting piggy kisses and belly rubs. I so wish I could take her in the Dodge Mahal with us, but we’re already pushing it with 3 dogs and 2 humans, ha!
Enjoying the Moment
I’m having so much fun being back on the farm where I grew up, and taking full advantage of my time with my family. Staying at my family’s has made the transition into RV life incredibly smooth, but I know it’s all going to hit me once we officially leave Texas that I can’t just hang out with my mom whenever I want (yes, I’m a momma’s girl - no shame).
(What North Texas lacks in scenery, it makes up for in sunsets & big Texas skies)
Don’t get me wrong - our planned journey in the Dodge Mahal is still a dream come true for us, and I’ll be 110% enjoying that moment when it gets here. Until we hit the road again in May, you can find me snuggling with this sweet pig and enjoying the calm, stillness of farm life.
