Trying Fruits in Indonesia

Southeast Asia is famous for the variety of fruits and of course, being in Bali I interested to try it.
In this post I will tell you about the fruit, which I bought at the local market, and you can buy them in the supermarket.

Salak or Snake Fruit

The outside of the fruit is scaly like a snake . The fruit inside consists of 3 lobes, each with inedible seed. The lobes resemble, and have the consistency of large peeled garlic cloves. It contains calcium, tannin, phosphorus and iron. Salak has a unique taste, sweet.

Mango

Most of you, I think, are familiar with this fruit. Here it is soft, very juicy and sweet. There are vitamins A, B, C, D and E, calcium, phosphorus, iron, rich in amino acids.

Pitahaya or dragon fruit

The flesh contains a lot of small edible seeds, taste softly pronounced sweet. The flavor is mildly sweet. There are also Pitahaya with white flesh, the flavor is similar to beets and less sweet. It contains vitamins B1, B2, B3 and C. Rich in potassium, phosphorus and calcium, also contains iron and other nutrients.

Passion fruit

Passion fruit is a yellow-orange oval fruit. Fresh passion fruit contains vitamin C, B vitamins, iron and phosphorus. It has a sweet and sour flavor, like a gooseberries.

Carambola or Starfruit

The fruit has distinctive ridges running down its sides, in cross-section, it resembles a star, hence its name. It contains a lot of calcium, phosphorus, iron, sodium, magnesium and potassium. Carambola is extremely juicy and almost tasteless.

Mangosteen

The fruit has a thick shell purple-brown, his inside is white flesh. The flavor is very sweet and juicy. Mangosteen is also useful, it is a real source of important human elements, vitamins C and E, calcium, magnesium, zinc, sodium and potassium. Perhaps today for me is the most delicious fruit.
