If you want to spend a relaxing weekend, the answer is Budapest. Between monumental buildings, spas and lots of fun, Budapest is one of the most beautiful European capitals.
St. Stephen's Basilica
Budapest was officially born in 1873 from the union of the historic cities of Buda, located on the right bank of the Danube, with the village of Pest, located on the opposite bank of the river and also of ancient origins; until 1918 it was one of the two capitals of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, dissolutioned at the end of the First World War.
One of the main things to visit is definitely the Buda Palace located in the highest part of the city.

Another attraction to visit in my opinion is the parliament. To the north and south of the dome were placed the two parts of the building that housed the same Chambers in which the two branches of Parliament would meet until 1944. Later Hungary abandoned the bicameralism system: therefore, currently it meets in this palace only one room, the National Assembly of Hungary.
It was built according to the canons of neo-Gothic architecture very popular in that period and is distinguished by its enormous horizontal development. It is similar to the Palace of Westminster, since both have the same neogothic architecture.

In this city there are a lot of thing that you can visit, but the time is short for only one weekend.
I hope to return to finish visiting this magnificent city.
If you have time enjoy this city!
