Lacey has been pretty stressed out lately so we took a small break from Steemit and a few other things and decided to pack our bags with two other friends and go for a 8 hour road trip to Gros Morne, Newfoundland to take on the 806 Meter high Mountain. It is the second highest peak on Newfoundland, exceeded by The Cabox that measures to be 814 Meters.
Getting There
We knew the car ride ahead of us was going to be long, and the fact that myself and Lacey were going to be cramped in the back seat of a car along with a few bags of luggage meant there was practically a guarantee for some car sickness to arise.
Sure enough, a short ways into the ride, with the van packed full with our things, as well as with the four of us, things started getting a little nauseating. Prone to car sickness, myself and Lacey knew that the quick fix would be either some fresh air or a bite to eat. So the first stop came early into the ride where we pulled into the nearest Tim Hortons for some "on the road" breakfast. It sure did the trick.
Arriving in Gros Morne!
After the ever so long car ride, we finally arrived at our destination, the beautiful Gros Morne, NL.
First things first was to check in and get our keys, which then resulted in myself and Lacey getting an on the spot explanation of everything the place had to offer from the cottage owner.
We picked our bedrooms, unpacked the necessities, and headed out for the nearest diner for a long awaited dinner, and what a fine feed we had. Myself, as well as our two friends, got a deliciously piled high burger, while Lacey got some incredibly fresh fish and chips.
Our First Night
When a group of homebodies get together, it usually just amounts to a couple of drinks and a scattered game of cards; and that's exactly what it was. We relaxed, took it easy, and prepared for the big hike ahead.
