I once heard someone saying "Venezuela must be a desert and arid country". They were somehow right. But the truth is, Venezuela has one of the most amazing mountains and natural landscapes you will ever manage to see, specially the Andean regions like Mérida, where the World's longest mountain range, The Andes, is born.
#Merida offers everything the ecotourism lovers like to see: Green landscapes, high mountains, loads of nature and amazing food. Its lands are suitable for food production, so it's very frequent to find plantations of different products within a short distance.
Merida is a favourite touristic place for locals. The scenery surrounding Mérida's roads is a plus for Transandean Highway roadtrip, which reaches its highest point at the Collado del Cóndor, at 4118mts from sea level.
At this place there is a cosy #chalet. Although they offer all kind of Venezuelan delicatessen, having a cup of hot chocolate is a must!
After having a hot drink and grabbed enough oxygen, it is worth enjoying the landscape right above the clouds.
