1. About Pulau Nasi

The western tip of Sumatra island is flanked by small islands forming a cluster of Pulau Aceh. One of the island is Pulau Nasi. The island is inhabited by migrants from the mainland of Aceh who settled on the island of Sumatra and from the small island around it.

Located in the administrative area of Aceh Besar district, the island consists of only five villages namely Lamteng, Deudap, Rabo, Pasi Janeng, and Alue Reuyeueng. But the captivating look of Pulau Nasi makes visitors instantly fall in love on once set foot. The endless waves of the beach attracted and the blue sea water as if calling out to those who looked with astonishment. The waves break into the singing of Pulau Nasi alternately caressing the stretch of white sand filled with footprints.

2. How to Get There

To get here there are two types of sea transportation services that can be used ie fishing boats and ferries. The cruise route through Ulee Lheu By dock in Banda Aceh is immediately docked to Deudap Pier on Nasi Island. Every 14.00 WIB everyday fishermen boat carrying basic needs for the citizens of five villages in the island of Nasi. Boat owners charge Rp 50 thousand per person for one sail. If you bring two-wheeled vehicles, then you have to add Rp 50 thousand again. Meanwhile, if you use the ferry services, then you just pay Rp 19 thousand only per person and Rp 20 thousand for two-wheeled vehicles.

But the ferry only sailed every three times a week ie Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Also at 14.00 pm. In addition to carrying passengers, ferries also sailed to transport food from Aceh's mainland to the archipelago. The sea trip takes about 1.5 hours.

3. Dining and Lodging

Pulau Nasi has not become a tourist destination yet, therefore for the needs of dining and lodging, we can ask for the services of local residents with a cheap price. Residents who become 'host' of Pulau Nasi will be so much happy to accept the offer.

Pulau Nasi is included in one of the backpaker favorites. This island is a isolated, smallest, and outermost island in the west of the archipelago and become a attractive challenge for the backpaker. They chose to camp on the beach.

On my next blog, I will tell you about my travel experience on exploring the charm of marine tourism on Pulau Nasi that is rich in natural beauty and friendly people, you will fall in love with this island, such a hidden paradise in the western tip of Indonesia. As I wrote on my previous blog about Pulau Aceh Festival, I took a chance on this event to explore the hidden tourist destinations on this Amazing Island.
