Cape Town must be one of the most versatile cities, with options to meet almost every budget and adventure.
You can feel the love when you visit this place, with it's hustle and bustle and yet there's an air of tranquility! A short drive from the city is an array of options from whale watching to drinking world-class wines. The beauty is never-ending and the people embrace you with a willingness and interest to share. A diverse culture, steeped in history of overcome adversity, and glorious landscape awaits any traveler.
So without delay, my top 10 favorite spots from what is known as South Africa's Mother City:
- Table Mountain
The iconic landmark is nothing short of magnificent, with options to hike or take a short cable car trip to the top. - Boulders Beach & Cape Point
See the two oceans meet and pop into Boulders Beach where you can sit amongst the penguins - Langebaan
Visit the picturesque lagoon situated in a National Park, home to many of South Africa's wildlife species. - Hermanus
Site the Southern Right Whales which come to birth here between the months of June and November. - Franschoek
A quaint village surrounded by wine farms where you can experience some of the best wine in the world! - Robben Island
Visit the iconic place which house the former Nelson Mandela and discover its emotional history. - Rhodes Memorial
A monument on the slopes of Devils Peak in honor of Cecil John Rhodes with a stunning tea garden. - Clifton
A set of four beaches rated amongst the top 10, by Discovery Travel Channel in 2003 and 2004. - Hout Bay
Nestled in a valley on the peninsula you will find Hout Bay, filled with markets and fresh seafood! - Kirstenbosch Gardens
Set on the eastern foot of Table Mountain and home to about 400 species of plants, not to mention other animals.
Although there are many more incredible places to see, I would rate these as the most rewarding during a short visit!
