After 3 days in Athens we went on. Fourth day, early in the morning we went to seaport and catch ferry to second destination, Mykonos - The Island of the winds. It took us about 2, 2 and a half hours to get there. From the ferry you can take beautiful pictures of the sea, and the islands you pass by. I took a couple photos while I was on the deck. The feeling while you standing on a deck is incredible, the wind blows your hair all over, water strikes in sides of ferry. I love it. After a ride which i enjoyed, we finally came on island. Mykonos is well known for its vibrant (night) life which you can see when you are first time on island. There is so many tourists, and the main transport vehicle is scooter and ATV which you can rent and see everywhere.
Perhaps one of the most photographed spots on the island are Windmills. White buildings with blue roofs attract most people, because it is characteristic of these islands.
After we store our luggage, we took a walk (we like long walks :D). 2 hours later, we were starving so we ate in a local restaurant. The workers in the restaurant welcomed us and served us nicely. Food was really delicious and fresh. One event was really funny,we ate outside, and few steps from our table the pelican came. The workers told us not to worry because it is mascot of restaurant and they play with it. You know that you need a nap after a lunch, so we filled our energy to maximum and later that day went to party in beach bars.
Two days on Mykonos was enough to visit the most interesting things on island. We packed and continued on. Last destination was one small and the most famous island in Greece, Santorini. We settled into a house rented by my cousin over airbnb. In the afternoon we went to beach, after few days in Greece that was first day on the beach. It was nice black sand beach, but the water was a bit cold. It wasn't a big problem to us, we are used to it after some times.
The island is really small, one end of the island is about 25 km from the other. So next day, you can guess what we did? Yeah, we took a long walk to Ancient Thira which is placed on the top of the mountain. It took us a couple of hours to get on the top because the track is narrow, uneven and full of stones so you have to watch where you stand. It paid off. From that spot you can almost see whole the island.
Walking downhill was an easy part. After that walk i figured out that the giros has a much better taste when you're tired and hungry. Swimming has been well done to cool down and relax.
You probably don't see the little church in the rock!
Evening in Fira was amazing, with many tourists and crazy nightlife that island left an impression on me. It was a beautifully spent couple of hours in one of the bars.
In the morning, we rented 3 ATVs so we visited some parts of island, we were in Fira again, but this time during the day. We spent several hours in Fira and continued on the nearest beach to relax. Last destination that day was Oia, the most recognizable place on this island. Our mission was to watch sunset. On the way to spot where we planned to watch it, there were too many tourists. That sunset is one of my favorite moment in life.
The last day of that great vacation arrived. We booked a flight late in the evening, so we wanted to use that day to maximum. With another rented ATV we visited Akrotiri Lighthouse, ate the most delicious fishes for lunch.
Yum Yum :D
After that, we spent some times on a red beach. Last walk of that trip was in Fira, we wanted to climb on a big rock. After some times spent on circling around rock and figuring out the path how to climb, we managed. We achieved the top of the rock.
When we returned ATV, we met a Serb who worked there and talked to him. He is really nice guy, and he recommended us some Greece's island to visit. It was good to meet some people from your country and talk with them about life on an island. That last day was cool, it was time to go home.
