Who would have thought, Tsunami deliver peace on earth dubbed the Veranda of Mecca. The prolonged conflict ended with the signing of the Helsinki MoU in 2005. At that time, both sides agreed to rebuild Aceh after the disaster.
To commemorate the event the government and donor aid agencies built a museum. Yes, the Tsunami Museum is located in Banda Aceh City. The museum is designed in such a way, each room has its own philosophical meaning, so that upon entering this building visitors can feel immediately how the disaster happened.
The designer of this museum is Ridwan Kamil or who is familiarly called Kang Emil. The man who is now the mayor of Bandung considers Aceh very special to him and is the second home for him.
The work of designing a tsunami building is not an easy matter. Many processes that must be passed by Kang Emil. His tears were spilled when he was designing the Aceh Tsunami Museum.
