Hi everybody!
I want to tell you a story about my hometown, Belgrade, capital of Serbia.
Serbia is state in Balkan peninsula in southeast Europe.
Belgrade is largest city in Serbia and It is located at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers.
First settlements in Belgrade area evolved in the 6th millennium BC. Celts, Romans, Slavs are just some of the first conquerors and you find all that on wikipedia.
I want to tell you something that you can't find on wikipedia.
Belgrade is openminded city with very kind people. You can easily find anything that you are looking for. If you ask anyone in the street about restorant that you are looking for or some monument or museum, you gona be suprised that everybody speak English and want to help you.
If you take walk from town center, after ten minutes you will get to Saint Sava temple, the biggest orthodox temple in Europe, located in Karadjordjev park.
Belgrade is home of Euroleague Final Four 2018. Best europinan baskeltball gona be played in Kombank Arena, Belgrade.
If you are a sport fan, there is one football match that you must see. It is Eternity derby, match between FC Partizan and FC Red star.
If you want to get out and fell real night life, you have to go to river banks where you can find many clubs on water, called splavovi.
The best cure for hangover after night spent on river is burek and yogurt in some of many old bakeries.
If you take a walk donw to pedestrian zone,** Knez Mihajlova street**, you will get to Kalemegdan fortress. If you are hostory fan, you can find many interesting thing here(Military museum, Roman Well, orthodox church, graves of many Ottoman military leaders...).
There are so many things that I can tell you about but you have to come here to feel the street atmosphere, to talk to local people, taste the food(sarma, ćevapi, burek...) mixed with rakija, local plum brandy or domestic wine.
Your hometown is very beautiful and has its own special atmosphere! You're very lucky to have lived there)
