Oh man, it's been a bit of a few weeks. I'm coming up on my nine month mark of leaving home (I know it's like I'm in a relationship with the date that I left home, but for me, it's a big deal) and homesickness and hit me like a brick wall. I just want to book a flight home for a week and then I would be good to go, but unfortunately I'm not made of money! I know it will pass in time. It comes in waves, sometimes for a few seconds and sometimes for a few days or even weeks. I can most definitely say leaving home gave me a newfound appreciate for it and for everything I left behind. Being able to live a normal life, of just waking up, going to work, punching in, going home and petting my cat sounds rather nice now! But in other news I'm in Hong Kong and I've got to make the best of my time here! Once again I got scammed in Shenzhen, I'm really beginning to dislike the taxis there a lot, I'll spare you from the gory details this time, but note: if you ever fly into Shenzhen, DO NOT take a taxi! I stayed in a hotel/hostel that was really quite nice, and cheap for having a private room and bathroom ($20 a night), and I headed for Hong Kong this morning! Coming from Shenzhen to Hong Kong takes ages, an hour on the metro to the border, 30 minutes to go through customs and another hour on the metro to Hong Kong! It takes a bit. The weather is rainy and cloudy again, the third time is not the charm for me and Hong Kong, but hopefully my next trip will be sunny and beautiful! I've done some exploring, eating and checking out the supermarkets(lame I know but I miss so much food from home, so I have to see what they have here!) I'll have another day of exploration tomorrow and then back off to Shenzhen to sleep in the airport and head back "home". Gotta love budget traveling! ;)
