Travel Bucket List #9 Switzerland

in #travel7 years ago

Switzerland is best known for its cheese, chocolate and clocks but that is just where it all begins. Here you will find scenery that takes your breath away and a diverse multilingual culture where almost everyone speaks some English and at least one of the other four official languages.

The Matterhorn in Zermatt is arguably the most photographed mountain in the world and with its giant pyramid shape standing at 4,478 metres high, it is not difficult to see why it is the most famous tourist attraction in the country. The mountain has cable cars available to take skiers and snowboarders up the mountain in the winter and caters to hikers and adventurers in the summer, so no matter the time of year you plan your vacation you can be sure to have full access to the Matterhorn.

Ferry’s and boats paddle though the topaz waters of Lake Geneva daily offering a unique view of the hillside vineyards, giving a rare glimpse of the world of Swiss wines. As the third biggest city in Switzerland, Geneva offers sophisticated experience including museums, gourmet restaurants, a lively art scene and one of the tallest fountains in the world, Jet d'Eau.

With something for everyone it is easy to see why Switzerland is recommended to be a part of your Travel Bucket List! If you would like me to feature one of your Travel Bucket List destinations, please comment below and I will do my best to include it in my future Travel Bucket List posts.
