RE: 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - African Wednesday week #54 - the absolute winner takes 200 SBD!

My Entry, Inanda Dam in KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. This gorgeous place is situated in the valley of a thousand hills and offers a wide range of things to occupy your time, from fishing, trail running and of course canoeing, this is one of the stops on the famous Duzi Canoe Marathon.

I very recently did the Rhino Trail run where and managed to capture this beautiful shot. It is an annual trail run which is organised to raise funds for the protection of our endangered Rhinos in South Africa. Last year funds were raised for a pregnant Rhino (Bella), which then gave birth to a healthy baby. The sad thing is that very Rhino (the mother) was poached this year, so all the funds raised this year had to go towards the orphaned baby rhino.

It is very sad that in this day and age we still have people who purchase horn as ell as tusks which only perpetuates the poaching problem. Where there is a demand there will always be supply. So please do not support this cruel disregard for Life on our beautiful planet.
