RE: Memories from abroad -Getting lost in a jungle

Thanks for coming by again! :) Zimbabwe? Dang, that sounds like a crazy story. For the whole time I was in Thailand there was bombings going in in Bangkok. Grenades, car bombs, stuff like that. Didn't see it thank goodness. I remember coming back from somewhere while in Thailand in a bus. It got stopped and a couple soldiers with AR-15's came on asking for everyones ID. They saw me and waved mine away since I was a foreigner, but, still, crazy going through checkpoints like that. But, yeah, wouldn't trade that time for anything in the world :)

Sort:

I was 18-19 years old. A country boy from Louisiana. There were machine gun nests around the airport and what looked like teenagers with M-16s guarding the customs lines. I started arguing with them as they went through my stuff. A Baptist Missionary was there and told me to shut up. I am glad he did. :)

Lol, I can just imagine that scene. Man were we dumb at that age. But, ignorance is bliss and makes for great stories. Machine guns nests, seriously laughing right now...so crazy.
