Hi Everyone, welcome back. This is part 3 of my birthday Cancun trip. So if you haven’t read part 1 and 2 please go ahead and do that.
We got out of Coco Bongo around 5am, our boat to Isla Mujeres was leaving in 30 min. After we got off at the seaport we realized we have no more cash left. All banks were closed and there are no more cabs waiting at this hour. What is left to do? We can’t walk 30 min in these heels. So I stopped the first car that was going towards us. We all jumped in and they drove us to our villa, pretty reckless but life without a risk is not worth living in my opinion.
We walk up feeling pretty good, went out to a cool seafood restaurant right on the beach. Had lots and lots of guacamole, fresh fish with rice and margaritas with beer :)
After lunch we decided to spend some time on the beach. We took our little golf cart and headed to one of the secluded beaches. It took us about 15 min to get there. The weather was amazing, and the water was clear and warm. You could feel the light breeze on your skin mixed with fresh sea air. You definitely cannot get the same feeling of freedom and peace when you’re in the city.
After the beach my friend Kate and I decided to do something fun and rent out mopeds to drive around the island, the rest of the girls didn’t follow our idea and went to downtown to buy some gifts. You can rent a moped almost anywhere in the downtown area of the island, and they’re reasonably cheap.
Oh how fun it was to ride a moped. Those things could go pretty fast too, and it didn’t take a while to figure out the streets and where they were leading. Especially going along the coastline with such beautiful scenery was a great experience. Of course we asked some locals to take pictures of us.
While we were cruising the island we’ve made a stop to catch up to each other and talk about what we should we do next, few local ladies approached us. It turns out they were massage therapists. So check this out, for only $25 you could get an hour long massage on the beach. What an amazing deal!!!
One hour passed really quickly. It's a great feeling when you're getting a massage and you can hear the waves crashing the beach front and you can feel the breeze of the sea. Unfortunately we could not get a 2nd hour because we were late to out next venture.
After our massage we found the rest of the group and went into some hotel resort because we've heard they've had a pool party where we got lots of tequila shots for free :////
That resort had some amazing views of crystal clean water and other areas of the hotel.
Fun fun times!!!
We truly had a blast on this trip, no regrets for not getting an all-inclusive resort experience because this was much more fun and independent.
I definitely recommend this way of exploring and enjoying the location to those who don’t want to be stuck in one place.
Mexico we will be back…
Thank you for reading my blog and following my page. If you liked my story please upvote! :)
It's funny how cheap things can get in Mexico (South America in general), SE Asia, certain parts of Europe.. $25 still is a fair bit, but you know, it's Cancun so tourist central. Still way cheaper than the good ol' States, but it's dope getting cheap ass massages when you've got chronic pains lol. Doesn't hurt the wallet
haha yeah for sure, especially massages on the beach ;)
Very nice Birthday @milanademort :)
Thank you so much :)
beautiful pictures! upvoted :)
Thank you!
Cancun is all right. But man, down town was really scary.
Downtown of Cancun was scary?
It didnt seem to be the best place for tourists.
Thanks for sharing your experiences with us, I live in Sweden so we never hear much about Mexico. It looks really cool I definitely have to go there some day!
