Ottawa - Cruise along the Ottawa River! Part I

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

In my previous stories I've described the cruise along the Rideau Canal and the Rideau Canal Ottawa Locks.

So now is the time of cruise along the Ottawa River. If the cruise along the Rideau Canal has been started from the top of Ottawa Locks, the cruise along Ottawa River has begun from the foot of the Locks.

Note: the Ottawa River flows into the St. Lawrence River and it is its biggest tributary with the lengths 1270 km. Also the Ottawa River is the border between Ontario and Quebec provinces.

In case of this cruise our pleasure craft was not so light as flatboat of the Rideau Canal since the Ottawa River is not the canal where waves may be prohibited by the human decision.

Thank you!

The two falls are called the Rideau Falls. 'Rideau' is French for curtain.

Thank you very much for your reply and clarifying of the falls name!
