Fisherman's Village Night Market
Not so many years ago, Fisherman's Village was as its name implies... a sleepy little fishing village, hosting dozens of local fishermen, with their families and boats.
Then a couple of decades ago or less, it was 'discovered', and became an attraction for tourists seeking a little rustic charm, Thai style.
Every Friday night the streets (street haha, there is really only 1 that runs through the village) are closed to vehicle traffic, and the whole place becomes a walking street night market, with local vendors selling all sorts of food and local crafts.
Food sold at the market includes fish, shellfish, chicken, pork, squid, octopus and crocodile, among other things. Also a variety of Thai sweets and desserts, as well as some local herbal products.
The best thing to do is just walk down the street, buying a small amount of some food you want to try, so it becomes one big street buffet.
I spent some time there and took a few pics of the market. Hope you enjoy! (please note, I am not a photographer - all images I took were with a mobile phone. Pics for interest only, forgive the lack of artistic merit).
