So, what’s on your 2018 bucket list? I believe summer always ends with great memories, so get to know more about the breathtaking tourist destinations you must visit in 2018!
Surigao del Sur is known as the “Shangri-La by the Pacific” because it is situated at the east coast of Mindanao, Philippines. The coastlines of Surigao are facing the Pacific Ocean; hence, it is blessed with a number of magnificent tourist spots, making its record always -high- in tourist arrivals every year.
Tour it yourself as you finish reading my blog post.
Laswitan
Laswitan Lagoon is located in Cortes, Surigao del Sur, and it is approximately 37 kilometers away from Tandag City. The name ’Laswitan’ comes from the Cebuano word ‘laswit,’ which means to spew out something: strong waves hitting the big rocks of Laswitan, more like an ocean waterfall as the mighty splashes of water repeatedly hit the rocks to form a set of lagoons. You can hear the euphoric screams of the travelers whenever the ‘laswit’ gushes out. The entrance fee is 20 pesos only, and cottage rental is 200 pesos.
Laswitan was also featured on Kapuso Mo, Jessica Sojo (KMJS) last January 2017.

Tinuy-an Falls

How about paying a visit to the acclaimed widest waterfall in the Philippines? Well, Tinuy-an Falls ain’t gonna disappoint you with its splendor! Tinuy-an falls is regarded as the Niagara Falls of the Philippines. It is located in Bislig City, Surigao del Sur, and is approximately 95 meters wide and 55 meters high. Bislig City is about 3.5 hours away from Tandag City, and is about 5 hrs away from Davao City when you travel by land. Tinuy-an Falls is effortlessly majestic! They say pain demands to be felt, but the ‘pain’ that you get from the waterfalls is oxymoronically soothing when you get a water massage! You can enjoy its free water massage by simply going under the waterfalls through riding a bamboo raft. The sound of the waterfalls is also very relaxing and again, the experience becomes a lot more breathtaking when you try going near or right under the waterfalls. The entrance is only 50 pesos for adults, and children do not need to pay for the entrance fee.
Britania Group of Islands
This is an original photo i took while we were on our way to one of the best-kept islands in Britania. The waters are crystal clear and the view is just overwhelmingly splendid.
I was indeed awestruck by its picture-perfect view! Anyways, Britania is located in San Agustin, Surigao del Sur, and it is approximately 80 kilometers away from Tandag City, and is around 278 kilometers away from Davao City.
As mentioned in my very first post here on Steemit, Britania is one of the places I have visited recently. This place is blessed with a collection of magnificent islands, and we really enjoyed island hopping.
The island tour costs 1,500, but our experience is really worth the price paid. We enjoyed swimming in the clear blue waters as we traveled from island to island.
Amidst the scorching heat of the sun, we managed to enjoy ourselves while visiting the islands. #sunkissed
Enchanted River

Enchanted River is just another must-visit tourist destination in Surigao del Sur. The name itself seems wondrous and astounding, since the river is deemed ‘enchanting’. Enchanted River is located in Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. It is approximately 149 kilometers away from Tandag City, and is about 5.5 hours away from Davao City when you travel by land.
Exploring the depths of the river feels like a magic tale because you can vividly see legions of fish down in the depths of this majestic river. The entrance fee for adults is 30 pesos only, and 5 pesos for kids who are four (4) feet and below. The place opens at 6 am, and it closes at 6pm.
Those are just some of the breathtaking places to visit in 2018! Surigao del Sur really does not fall short of the magnificent tourist destinations that it offers. And, y'all are always welcome here :)
