The market is bleeding today and it's painful to see all the prices crashing, this was expected since some time and here it is. Anyways, today I will like to share updates of our day 1 arriving into Istanbul.
Our flight landed into Istanbul at around 6.30 p.m., by the time we reached the hotel and completed the check-in formalities it was 8.30. It was not late and we were full of energy and excitement to visit the new City. We had selected our hotel in one of the most central area of Istanbul the Taksim square. It is a very famous area of Istanbul and the city’s main pedestrian boulevard also. There are lots of cafes and boutiques here and it's very famous for the night-life also. Not wasting much time, we freshened up and went to the main square, which was only a 5 minute walk from our Hotel.
Walking towards the square only I could see a big Mosque right in front of me, which at night time with all the lights looked very attractive.
I could see some people going into the mosque and thought that it was open for visitors, so I tried going in. But then the security stopped me and told me that it was only for prayers at that hour and I could not go inside. I felt a bit disappointed, but then of course respect the sentiments of the place. I could get a good glimpse from the outside itself as the doors were open.
The interiors were decent, the major attraction was the exterior and that I could already see, so I was ok with not getting inside.
All of this is a part of the Mosque
After the Mosque, I walked towards the main area of the Square where there is a Republic monument.
The mosque from the other side of the road.
This is one of the most famous street food I found in Istanbul, Corn and water chestnuts.
There were loads of this Doner Kebabs cafe on the way
There was this gorgeous flower shop at the square.
From here on we started walking towards the street where all the cafe, and shops are there.
At the end of it we had our dinner in one of the restaurants on this street. The day 1 excitement was too much and we ended up spending big money on the dinner. The food was so tempting that we could not resist, especially my Son, he wanted to have almost every dish on the menu...hehe. I also found the food expensive here in comparison to Oman. It was a great way to end the evening.
Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

One of my cousins is currently living in Istanbul, she went over there eight years ago with the Panama embassy and have made a life, she always had a hard time because she was extremely shy between other quirks but I have always like her, there is such contrast between the culture and I hope one day I could travel over there and visit her, I love cold weather and that plaza at the end looks like a nice place to pull up my laptop and sit there just spending some time outside probably making comments on others post jejejeje Im so jealous of how culture rich other places are and Panama is not, at least not in the city ✌️
No doubt it's a nice place and very lively also, if you learn the language and have good income then it becomes very comfortable to live there. I have not known much about the Central America region but from the pictures Panama looks a beautiful place, but again as you say the culture part must be lacking
Hey, I didn't know you came to Istanbul, I hope you are having a good time in my country. It's a bit chaotic at the moment, but it's a paradise for a tourist. Looks like you're enjoying Istiklal Street and Taksim. I walked around there a few months ago.
I was there last week, now back to my home. It was a 10 days visit and I must say your Country is very beautiful, and I really enjoyed every bit of it.
What a fascinating account of your Istanbul trip! The description of Taksim Square and the beautifully lit mosque at night is captivating. I'm sorry to hear you weren't able to go inside the mosque, but I understand and respect your acknowledgement of the importance of the prayer time. Your photos are stunning!
Thank you, it was always my wish to visit this Country and finally it happened
Hahaha they do have very strict laws about the the mosque, even for shops, I don't bother going to buy anything when it's prayer time for the Moslems in my neighborhood. It really is a spectacle of a building. But let's talk market... 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Blood bath everywhere. Today's prices is making last week look like a bull season
Ahhaa, this market, but then it was expected, it's good that it's happened so that now we can move forward, hopefully :-)
yes I hope the only way left is up
You are absolutely right because the market is down a lot but the status will be visible again after a few days so now is the time to buy something. I started because I am hopeful Some bounce will be seen and thanks for presenting a beautiful picture of the market
Hopefully, it will bounce back
