When we talk of Switzerland what comes to our mind immediately are the Swiss Alps, Swiss Cheese, Swiss Chocolates, Cuckoo clocks. Switzerland I believe is one of the most beautiful places on our planet. The rich and the famous of the world live here. The Alpine scenes here are breathtaking. It was my plan to visit in the month of June itself but I could not due to delayed visa. This month I again got an opportunity to travel with hubby for work and this time I also had my visa ready so there was no looking back.
It's going to be a week long stay and my plan is to visit Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen, Montreux and Lucerne. Between 1995 and 2005 I would visit Zurich very often for work. I worked with Swiss Airline at that time and I had to travel for work often and would have long stays also there. In those days I travelled a lot within Switzerland but now it's been 17 years that I last visited and I was getting this urge to visit this place once more and just see my wish is fulfilled.
Tonight I land in Zurich and tomorrow morning we fly to Geneva, as hubby's office work is over there. We wanted to travel to Geneva tonight itself but the flights are full and the train journey was too long at night so we then decided to fly tomorrow morning to Geneva and then spend the day in Geneva while hubby finishes his work, and after that we are on a holiday for the next 4 days.
In a way good that the June plan did not work out, one reason was it would have been too much back to back travelling and the other being the climate it better right now then in June. The last few months have been a lot of back to back travels every month and I am enjoying it. After 2 years of not being able to travel 2022 has been very welcoming for me in terms of travelling and I hope that such mini travels keep coming up at short intervals.
Check-in and immigration is completed and I am now waiting at the lounge for boarding.. Since last one month I have been completely off alcohol and on a strict diet regime. I am planning to go a little east on the trip with the diet and enjoy some wine as well. So excited and looking forward to this short holiday to one of my most favorite places.
