HISTORY OF SUNDARBAN
The history of sundarban can be sketch back to 200-300ad. Remains of a city built by Chand Sagar. Baghmara forest block has been found by Chand Sagar. In the time of mughal period local kings tenure the forest of the suundarban to in inhabitant. Sundarban is a water-logged jungle .Tiger and other wild beasts abounded, Attempts reclamation Had not been very successful. syndari(Heritiera littoralis) is the main tree of sundarban. The name of sundarban had probably been came from sundari tree.It is a hard wood.It used for building,furniture and for making boats etc. Rivers chanels and creeks were intersected every where of sundarban.
