DAY OUT || Part 1

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

What's up steemians?!
Its been a while since I wrote something. Actually, I don't remember! Did I ever write something??

Fuck my lazy ass!!
Here we go.

I lived in Guwahati for nearly one year but never visited any tourist place, except Zoo (it was a date xD ).
And again, my laziness is the main reason. And the second reason is bc I've already seen most of the science museum, water park stuffs in Kolkata and historical museum in Sivsagar , when I was in high school.

But this time, my elder uncle told me that they were going to visit the planaterium and other places with their kids and I have to come too. I agreed as I thought it would be fun with the kids.

It was Thursday, May 24th.
We came to Guwahati on the morning train from Nagaon and reached GHY at 10:30 AM. We were playing rock paper scissor and 'Antakshari' of place names the whole three hours of journey.

We headed towards the planaterium for the 11 AM show, but unfortunately they cancelled that day's shows because of some technical issues. So we made sad faces and headed towards our next destination, The Assam State Museum.

It was a very well maintained set of buildings joined together. There is a beautiful garden with some ancient mortars.

We first took the left route to the first floor and entered the Gandhi's room, literally. The room was full with Gandhi's photographs, from his childhood to death. And some of Gandhi's handwritten letters to some other prominent leaders. ( There was a sign board with the leaders' names and I saw Adolf Hitler on it, but couldn't find the letter 😔 ).

Moving on.

We saw a art gallery with many spectacular old paintings.

There were old and modern traditional dresses of every tribes of Assam. And traditional lifestyle (statues) and houses too.

On one floor, there was a whole old Assamese village environment, with house made of clay, 'Dheki' outside the house, the old traditional yard of Assamese farmers and cowsheds. I asked and one of their officials said that those things were made there 20-25 years ago. This amazed me a lot.

Then we went to the ancient sculptures section. And it was the most beautiful part of the whole museum. There were hundreds of statues of Gods, deities and all were hundreds of years old.

Here are some clicks of my favorites.

Then we went to the weapons section. We saw used British's guns, bullets, Japanese bombs, guns, machine guns, mortars and a rescue suit used in the WW2.

So that's it. I wrote some shits that nobody gonna read and upvote ( prove me wrong xD).
Anyway, here are some other clicks from the State Museum.
