Introduction
Read my old post of "Partially Solo Trip" post here to get s sneak peek of what I did in Jeju Island! This post below will be a detailed guide and some tips on what to take note on. I've separated into parts in order to make it easier to be read! The total cost of this trip is MYR3000 inclusive of two-way direct flight, transportation, accommodation, all entry fees and food.
Day 1 Itinerary
Jeju International Airport (Part 1)
Yongduam Dragon Head Rock (Part 1)
Mysterious Road (Part 2)
Biwon Ginseng Chicken Porridge (Part 2)
Strolling around Ildoi-Dong (Part 3)
Hotel RegentMarine (Part 3)
Mysterious Road
This is the road where you should not look back. If you do, you will see about 5 young kids are behind you, pushing all vehicles up to the last stop. It could be true as there are graveyards surrounding this place. For our tour bus, we decided to get adventurous by letting these small strong souls to push our bus to the last stop. The bus driver turned off the engine, but the bus seems to be scaling upward of the slanting road. Hope this gives you some chills.
After a minute of the horrific incident, the souls are nice enough to introduce you to try some Korean street food and Jeju Tangerines. The price range of food is from 3,000 won to 10,000 won.
Self-Trip Guide
I would recommend those who love taking some good scenery shots to stand in the middle of the road to take a good scenery picture. Just remember to be very careful with cars, who knows they're speeding up and accidents may happen.
Location: 2894-63 1100(Cheonbaek)-ro, Nohyeong-dong, Cheju, Jeju-do, South Korea
Biwon Ginseng Chicken Porridge
One big pot of porridge to warm your soul after the mysterious road. Look at the size of the chicken for one person's portion. I think the tour is well planned for this by feeding us this hot meal for the first day in Jeju. Guessing that maybe they know, I am not used to this cold weather.
And look, our first kimchi in Jeju! Something to keep our tummy filled while waiting for our Ginseng Chicken Porridge to be served. Ginseng Chicken Porridge is called Samgyetang in the menu! Would you like to try the bittery taste of Korean Ginseng?
Pricing
- Samgyetang (Ginseng Chicken Porridge) @ 14,000 won
- Galbitang (Beef Short ribs soup) @ 10,000 won
- Dakmoraejumeoni (Gizzard) @ 7,000 won
Location: 3-1, Sumogwon-gil, Jeju, Jeju Island, South Korea
Outside of Biwon Retaurant
Tall Pine Trees, close shots of the Cherry Blossom and the cool breeze. Get yourself out and take some insta-worthy pictures for the Gram!
