My first time in Chiang Mai (North of Thailand)

in #travel8 years ago (edited)

Hiiiiii everyone, I would like to share my first trip to Chiang Mai (North of Thailand) with you.

First, I had to fly from Don Muang Airport, Bangkok to Chiang Mai. You can find this flight really cheap, about $25 and it’s a 50 minute flight. The other option was bus… which is cheaper, but takes 9-10 hours.

I arrived in Chiang Mai and the first thing I have to do of course, because I’m Thai, is eat. Northern food is just so good! So that’ll be Khao Soi for me (famous noodles in Chiang Mai).p>Khao -Soy chicken and meat

One of the most popular attractions (according to the internet) is the temple on the mountain - Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. Really amazing view from the temples, snacks, coffee shops - I think everyone should go once. It’s very cheap too, and I’m on a budget!

Before you go inside Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, you must make sure to wear long trousers and t-shirt. If you don't have anything to wear, you can rent from the temple for 20 baht (0.46$) like this picture

Many locals come to pray for Buddha here.

The outside of the temple is surrounded by could. You can look over the entire city from here!

After I finish walking around and praying, I'm hungry againnnn. Next stop: Tong Tem Toh, which means something like ‘You must have a full table’. They specialise in Northern food.

I stayed in Chiang Mai for a few days before renting a car to go to other provinces in the North. Next stop: Lampang.

Wat Phra That Lampang Luang is one of the most famous temples in Lampang, similar to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep.

Wat Chalermprakiat

The beauty of the temple is located on a high mountain. people of Thailand as well as foreigners come to see the temple. Difficult to walk up… but worth it for the view.

The next adventure: Bua tong waterfall or the Sticky Falls. A very unique waterfall just outside of Chiang Mai. As the name suggests, the rocks are ‘sticky’ because of mineral deposits, so you can walk straight up them!

Time to fly back to Bangkok. I have to go to University.
