"30$ a day is a lot of money, in Mexico, and actually, in most of the world"
Agreed with you @churdtzu here in Venezuela an engineer can earn 5$ a day and still be a lot of money but the inflation of my country makes it look like nothing, only to eat well or better said what you can find to eat you need to earn at least like 15$ a day.

Sort:

My friend in La Isla de Margarita said to me a while back that there was a position open for an English teacher, and maybe I'd like to come down. I asked how much it pays... She said 15,000 Bs (u$d 15 for other readers) per month. I was a little shocked. I decided not to take that job... I'd still like to go to Venezuela though.

A couple of friends told me that it's not that dangerous outside of Caracas, but another friend told me not to go and that my other friends were obviously trying to kill me. What's your opinion? Can the whitest man in Mexico survive in Venezuela?

Now the teacher job can give you like 60$ per month, almost nothing, to have a decent life you need to earn at least 300$ per month, caracas is dangerous, i´m from Valencia that is to 2 hours from caracas and i have moved with my family some years ago because It became very dangerous too, now i´m living in a little town far away from the big cities and the life is much more quite here.

Okay, so it is possible to find somewhere away from the madness there.

Yes brother it is possible, and for traveling we still having amazing places to visit.
