No a lot of people have ever heard of a place called Murudeshwar or Murdeshwar. Even for average Indian it seems to be little known.
Just 2 hr train ride from Goa and you come to largely undiscovered holy place of South India.
Murudeshwar offers a long sand beaches with not much tourists.A breathtaking view awaits you when moving towards the little headland dividing the beach into north and south.
There, on a small hill, a 36 m ( 122 feet) Lord Shiva idol sits on a throne, surrounded by smaller, but impressive statues illustrating moments of the Hindu mythology.
Incredible view from the temple.
