Hello everyone :)
What comes into your mind If you think about Thailand?
I am sure that most of you will think of 'Phuket'. Thailand's largest island, a warm tropical ocean, beautiful beaches, stunning scenery and exciting and fun activities. It's located about 900 kilometers south of Bangkok. Takes about 12 hours of driving but 1 hour by plane... Let's go! ✈️
Mai Khao Beach was the first place that I visited. It is a popular plane spotting location, located just at the back of Phuket International Airport and it is the longest beach in Phuket. A lot of people come here to watch and to take a selfie or a photo of the planes landing.
For me, it definitely was amazing to watch them coming extremely close and over the turquoise blue water. But the sounds was incredibly loud and also the situation could be dangerous. Why? Because the jet is powerful and it could blow you, your stuff or sand at you. It blew up the sand from the beach at me and it was hurt.
Phuket has a lot more to offer than just its natural beauty. So my next stop wasn't at the beach but Wat Phra Thong. It is a very old temple. People come here because of the famous half buried golden Buddha as the meaning of its name 'Gloden Buddha Image Temple'
Continued heading south, I had a stop for lunch at View Cafe Restaurant. It is a new restaurant that is located on the mountain, a perfect place for lunch with a perfect view facing the sea. You can choose the to sit indoors or outdoors.
Another famous temple in Phuket was my next stop after lunch. Chaithararam Temple (Wat Chalong). It is the most important temple, the largest, most revered and most visited Buddhist temple in Phuket.
Laem Ka Beach. Located in the southeast of the island was my next stop. It is the quiet and beautiful little beach with a lot of small and big rocks. The entrance was a small road and had to drive pass the private land.
Further south to the other side at the southernmost point of Phuket island, Phomthep Cape which also knows as Phuket's symbol. This place is famous for sunset. But this photo was taken in the afternoon because I got there early and didn't have time to wait for the sunset.
From the southernmost I drove up north and stopped at Karon View Point. From up here you can see the view of 3 west coast beaches - Kata noi, Kata and Karon. Then I continued drivining up north to these beaches.
Kata Noi Beach
Kata beach
Karon Beach
And here was my last beach of this trip because I had to head back to the airport.

Thanks you for sharing these! I can feel a bit closer to paradise just by looking at your pictures, but I would do anything to be able to feel the sand between my own toes.
Thanks for your comment! Glad you enjoyed it! And yes! there's nothing better than to feeling it by yourself :)

Heya, just swinging by to let you know, you're an Honorable Mention in our Daily Travel Digest!
That's awesome! Thank you 😊
I have to say I like Phuket. Many people think it's too crowded and too touristy but there are indeed some very nice (even quiet) places to go. Some of them you have mentioned in your post.
For example, I liked the Laem Ka Beach very much and also Wat Chalong was very beautiful. I haven't been to the Mai Khao Beach however, guess I'll have to catch up on this...
Yeah! you should visit Mai Khao Beach! It's easy to go, just behind the airport and the landing planes are interesting!
Sounds good. Will check it out next time I go to Phuket ;)
Hoping to visit this time next year, thanks for info!
You're welcome :)
