One hour ago I had quite a shock, but let's begin at the start of the day. 11.10 2017
Woke up at 6am had breakfast and started my journey at 7am. The Homestay I stayed told me they have friends in Dong Van a city 115km away. My plan was to go there and visit many interesting places on the way. Just the view from the street was worth it.
The weather was crazy like yesterday. Rain and sunshine changes so fast and often.
First stop was a cave to which I had to take a detour for 5km and walk for 1,2km. The Cave was amazing, unfortunately the battery on my phone went out. Still have a few beautiful pictures walking there.
Next stop was a lake, it was nicer to drive around it then to look stationary at it.
I continued on the road for the rest of the time.
This is Yen Minh, a city on the way to Dong Va about 45km away.
From Yen Minh to this place it was going up or straight, but up the most time. Here the motor of my Motorbike stopped and wouldn't turn on again. I was in quite a shock. I had one more hour until the sun goes down I couldn't see anything and the mosquitoes would come out and eat me alive. My worry was that the engine was broken and this in the middle of nowhere. I decided to go back to Yen Minh to get a mechanic to look at it and stay there for the night. Downhill the motor went on, but as soon as I stopped it went out again. I found a mechanic and after a quick look he told me something with the contact of the key was broken. He changed the thing(the one where you put the key in I don't know the name of it), gave me a new key, I payed him 80.000 Dong(almost 3€) and went to a hotel(Vietnam is crazy cheap).
Staying here I checked and found out I drove for about 2000km in not even 1 month. Not bad for someone who never drove Motorbike before in his life :). I enjoy it and will probably hit about 5000 at the end of my trip.
i only managed to do about 80km instead of 115, but that's all right. I rather do less distance a day but relax and take my time.
Safe travel

soooo beautiful place!
Thank you. I post almost every day now. Follow me to see more.
Looks like a great time. I'm in Malaysia now but will be in Vietnam in November. Some fellow backpackers I met told me the only way to really experience Vietnam is on a motor scooter so I think I'll be doing some of what you are experiencing. Hopefully, not the broken bike part.
When and where will you come to Vietnam? My Visa ends at the beginning of December. If you are in the South I might sell you mine(will be fixed until then). And yes your friend is right. With a Motorbike you can go and do whatever you want. It feels so free. :)
