This looks like an ancient land. Like something out of the Lord of the Rings movies. I could see a team of dirty looking folks all dressed in raggy looking clothing just ride into the view on horses. They would camp by the side of the stream, thinking this is a desolate land, but safe from danger. Then some creature that lives here will come and attack them in the middle of the night! Good thing they are good with the sword and the heros, because they kill the beast!
