Day 1 Hawaii Adventure

Earlier this month I had the opportunity to visit one of my favourite trip destinations I've ever been to, Hawaii!
I last had the pleasure of flying to Hawaii and visiting Maui 5 years ago, recently found myself in the position where I had an opportunity to fly into Kona's airport on the Big Island.

One of the many sights on the island that I wanted to see was the Akaka Falls State Park, which was just a short hour drive from the resort in Waikoloa Village I stayed at.
At the entrance, we see a beautiful wall of lush green leaves I just had to get a picture with them! (The sun was totally blinding xD)

Entrance fee to the park is very affordable at $1USD per person.
There was a cement path with rails that visitors are meant to follow, and the entire walk through the park takes about 15-20 minutes. Since there are stairs leading down and back up out of the park entrance, with no time limit or supervision on your stay, we chose to walk through a second time to re-experience all the beauty the park had to offer.

Before long, we see the waterfall peeking through the plants

There was a large space created with shelter and benches for visitors to rest and view the fall from a seating position. It was also a great place to let drones in the air for a better angle of the breathtaking view.

On the way, back to the entrance, there were many small-scale waterfalls much closer to the path.
