Just behind the caravan park we were staying at is a lovely picnic ground named Park No.7 that has a pondage adjoining fed from the Crusoe Reservoir nearby. Being wet and rainy, it was very quiet, so the kangaroos were out in force feeding on the lush green grass.
There were plenty of walking tracks and we opted for the 1.4km trek around the pondage. Even though we had plenty of recent rain, the track was not too muddy. It was very picturesque and serene as we were the only ones there. While walking we came across a big old rusty waterpipe. I assume it something to do with goldmining many years ago.
We saw some more old rusty equipment when we went to have a look at Crusoe Reservoir. There is something about the texture and colouring of rust that piques my interest. It was a good start to the day.
