This photo is kind of special to me. It is the Azure Window, the iconic landmark of Malta that, unfortunately, doesn’t exist anymore. This astonishing limestone arch collapsed into the sea in March 2017 as irresponsible tourists kept walking on it, despite the warning signs all around it. I used to live on the island of Gozo where the Azure Window was located and visited this beautiful place several times.

I just posted a picture of this yesterday. It is sad that it's gone. I was there just 2 weeks before the storm swallowed the arch.
Just checked that post and uvpoted it, you took a nice shot of it ;) We should be really glad we could see this beauty standing there...
I was in Rome when I saw a post on Reddit that it was gone. That news ruined my entire day. I am thrilled to have had the opportunity, but sad that so many others are robbed of that chance. I sat there and just stared for about 2 hours, before catching the last possible bus back to the Ferry.
it was a magical place indeed... standing there for thousands of years, maybe even more... and we were are among the last people to see that... btw did you also visit the Ta Pinu Church? it is on Gozo too and this place has an amazing atmoshpere too... I wrote a post about it... https://steemit.com/architecturalphotography/@phortun/ta-pinu-basilica-on-maltese-island-of-gozo-place-where-miracles-happen
I passed by it, but there seemed to be construction going on or something, so just kept on going. I'll read your post; thanks for the link.
Cool shot! I remember we talked about this in some previous post =)
Yep, we did ;)
