RE: Come for a stroll through Valparaiso, Chile

in #travel8 years ago

I'm an expat, yeah. I live in Valdivia, which is in the south. I like it down in this part of the country. Most people live in Santiago but I personally don't like living in such big cities (six million people). Crime isn't an issue except for the odd petty theft in high-traffic areas. My favorite knife was stolen out of my suitcase once but that's all. The main challenge for English-speaking people is the fact that it's a Spanish-speaking country. I get by fine in Valdivia with just basic survival-level Spanish and I've been here for over two years. There are five universities in this town and lots of tourism so if you ever want to speak English with someone, it's never hard to do. Immigration is easy and we're making it even easier with our new community project, Fort Galt.

Cool thanks, I've actually read about Fort Galt on bitcoin forums, and it spiked my interest in Chile :) Looking really good.
