Unexpected Changes at Feredeu Monastery: A Last Glimpse Before Reconstruction

I recently visited the Feredeu Monastery Hermitage during one of my weekend trips. This hidden gem is tucked away in a forest, nestled among the rolling hills. It's a peaceful spot where people often stop to collect fresh, cold water from the spring in the monastery's courtyard. However, this weekend held a surprise for me. When I went to get some water, I found a deep pit where the monastery once stood.

From what I gathered, the foundation of the building wasn't stable, putting it at risk of collapse. So, the monastery was demolished, leaving just a hole in the ground. These are likely the last photos anyone will see of the original structure. I'm really curious to see how the new building will turn out and whether it will resemble the old one.

For those who might not be familiar, the monastery is located in Arad County, Romania, near the village of Șiria. It's a place that holds both spiritual and historical significance, and I hope the new construction will continue to preserve its unique charm.

The small building next to it and the houses where the monk leaves are still there, just the main church is gone.
