Sharing a small Travel log of me and my vacation home in Sahyadri Hills, India.
'Chi house' is a growing community of Tourists, Travellers, Artists, Permaculturists, Adventure Enthusiasts, Students, Thinkers and Tribal Farmers.
CHI, or ‘Prana’ as referred in India, translates to the fundamental life force present in everything, the source of energy that is the birth of creation.
Bhandardhara
Meaning ‘The Bhandar of Dharas’ or ‘Abundance of flowing Streams’, is one of Maharashtra’s most scenic and less explored hill station. Just over 150 kms from Mumbai and situated along the Pravara River, Bhandardhara offers a clean and natural environment, waterfalls, mountains, perfect for tranquil trotters, adventure enthusiasts or a quick weekend getaway.
Chi House
Nestled in the heart of the mighty Sahyadri range, hidden from the concrete jungle and disconnected from the city chaos. Located on a secluded and picturesque Murshet tabletop plateau, Chi house offers the most breath-taking landscapes, with Mount Kalsubai, Maharashtra’s highest peak on one side and the tranquil Arthur Lake to the other. Chi house was created as an eco friendly vacation home and a first-of-its-kind experiment with sustainable living. Built in 2014 on a farmland, Chi house is a unique neo-modern studio apartment farmhouse that can comfortably accommodate over 10 people. The house is inspired from the unique concept of Earth bag technology and is made with 90% mud, which keeps it naturally cool in summers and warm in winters, think of it as a new age twist on a traditional mud house. Constructed along with the tribal community of Murshet village, the objective is to make the villagers an integral part of our eco system by financially sustaining them and helping them flourish.
