Goverla Mountain
Day 4
Hoverla (with the Hovârla room - "impenetrable elevation") is the highest mountain in the territory of Ukraine. Hoverla is located on the border of Transcarpathian and Ivano-Frankivsk regions, about 17 km from the border with Romania. Refers to the Chernogor ridge in the Carpathians. The height of the mountain is 2,061 m above sea level.
In the morning at 9 we always had breakfast. An hour later we were already on the bus. We went to Goverla Mountain. We did not reach the mountain several kilometers and we had to leave the bus and walk. There was a small market with souvenirs and alcoholic tinctures.
In this photo you can see our group.
The ascent to the mountain began. We did not take water with us, because at every step a stream meets. The mountain begins with a steep slope right in the middle of the forest.
And this is my shadow =)
An hour later we finally got out of the woods to the hump where the already difficult slope began.
We walked another 30 minutes until we reached a small plateau at the foot of the mountain itself. I must admit that by that time everyone was very tired. All the same, a couple of hours to go upside down is rather tedious.
Finally, before us was the mountain itself. The mountain was seen badly, because it is shrouded in clouds from all sides. By the way by this time it was already noticeably colder. If the bottom temperature was 20 degrees Celsius, then the plateau temperature was 15 degrees.
These photos are made on top.
At the top of the mountain was about 10 degrees Celsius. There was also a very strong wind. Our clothes were not warm, so it was cold.
It seemed the mist was flying right through us.
This I eat. I'm eating so it does not happen = 0
At the top of the mountain is an index.
We could not stay at the top for a long time, because we were frozen. We are already going down.
