Cooking Class in Thailand: Learning Royal Thai Cuisine
Hello, this is @ramengirl ;)
After the local market tour, we headed to cooking school for our class! The cooking school was in the deep forest, it felt like we're going to secret place!
When we got to Pantawan cooking school, I felt like I'm in a fairytale!! The school was so beautiful place and there was a lot of trees and flowers :)
We had welcome tea with other students and also we could have some time to take a look around the school before the class.
The cooking class started! The teacher explained everything from tools to ingredients and the details of recipes very kindly.
Pantawan Cooking School has a curriculum set for each day. We choose the Friday course so it was Thai royal cuisine. We're gonna learn 4 dishes of Royal Thai Cuisine this time.
When we cooking, the staff always help us from the side, so we were able to finish cooking safely and quickly.
Panang Moo - Panang curry with pork
Tung Tong - Deep fried spiced wonton “golden bag"
Kung Pad Hed Hom - Stir-fried prawn with shitake mushroom in oyster sauce
Pla Rad Prig - Fried ruby fish with sweet and sour chill sauce
Tada! This is royal Thai cuisine! Doesn't it look really good? Even though I made it, it was super yummy!!! I finished the whole course because it was so delicious!
When the class was over they took us back to the hotel. I asked the staff if he knows any good restaurant for Khao Soi which is traditional northern Thai food. And he told me he's going to send me information by e-mail! And about an hour later, he made a list of famous Khao Soi restaurants in Chiang Mai and sent it to me!!!! I can't believe how kind and thoughtful they were :'( I could've made the best memories because of you guys!! It was the best cooking class. Thank you :)
And a few days later, I got on an airplane to Krabi, where I received another email from the Pantawan Cooking School which I never expected. It was the YouTuber that I wanted to take a class from her!! She said she's gonna be in Bangkok till **th, and if I have time let's meet and check out the local food together!
So how did I answer her? Will be continued in the next post! :)

It's nice sharing your experience with us. Honestly, I have never tasted any of those food except for the fish. I hope one day I will get to taste them all.
I love to cook, and my mum taught me most of the things I know about cooking. She is a great cook. But I know there is much I still have to learn, so very soon I will be registering with a cooking school close to where I stay.
Hi @ramengirl the fried ruby fish (with sweet and sour chill sauce) looks delicious. I haven't had a fish like that is 3 or 4 years. Now all I have is fish from the store in the freezer department. I can't wait to to start eating fresh fish again. You posts has motivated me to start eating better.
Wow, you must have learned a lot! Maybe you could share in more detail how one of these meals is made? :)
