A new island appeared on the US coast near Cape Point, North Carolina, United States, attracting travelers and adventurous photographers.
The one-and-a-half-mile-long sandbank began to appear in the spring. It was just a little bump in April.
At Instagram, Chadonka published an aerial image of the new island, showing how large the new addition is.
Experts have said that the island, called Shelly Island by the locals, is dangerous and has warned visitors about exploring it.
Dave Hallac, superintendent of Cape Hatteras National Seashore, advised people not to try to walk or swim across to the island due to the strong current that is produced between the mainland and the new island. Authorities are worried about possible shark attacks, but more from drowning.
In the last time they have seen by the zone sharks of more than a meter and a half and enormous manta rays.
Before you get excited and think about going the next few years, remember that nature gives and takes away. The first hurricane to come could make the island disappear ... no one knows for sure.
Amazing :)
That's interesting.
